WHAT WE BELIEVE
Federated Church of Wauconda is a Community Church affiliated with the American Baptist and the United Methodist denominations.
-
We believe in One God existing in three equal persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in God the Father, the creator of all things, everlasting and infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love. God is love. Through his divine power and providence, God continues to sustain his creation, operating within history to fulfill his redemptive purposes.
-
We believe in Jesus Christ who is the second person of the Trinity, the Son of God. He was born as a human being to show the world how much God cares about us. Jesus is fully God and fully human, and lived a sinless life. He taught us how to live. Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin and death. Jesus is our Savior who by trusting him gives eternal life.
-
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who is God’s living presence in our midst. The Holy Spirit is our powerful helper and advocate who guides, equips, challenges, encourages and empowers all believers each day.
-
We believe that God created each individual in his image. Like God we have the capacity to create, to love and care, to communicate and to transform the world. God created us for those purposes. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be restored, reconciled and renewed.
-
The church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world. We are called to follow Jesus and help others find and follow him. We do this through the use of our gifts, talents and outreach to the world.
-
We believe that the Bible is the primary guide for our faith and practice. God speaks to us through the Bible. The Bible contains all things necessary for our lives and our salvation.
-
The Kingdom of God is both a present reality and future hope. God goes before us, beckoning us into the new world that is already being created, calling us to follow Him building of His kingdom.
